Chauncey Whittelsey record book, 1774-1776.

Whittelsey was appointed to procure clothing for the Continental troops during Revolution.This small record book, written on the blank pages of an almanac, indicates he procured more than clothing. The entries document supplies donated and disbursements made for such items as oranges, loads of wood, rum, turkeys, limes, and pork. There are also entries for the salary the he received from Ensign Osborn. In addition, there are two affidavits to statements made by Mr. John Prout of New Haven in 1774 and 1776.
